BFR

New to me and very interested in buying for deer hunting. Any good or bad experience out there with Magnum Research BFR in 45-70?
I've seen a few things about it on line. Anyone have actual hands-on use commentary about it either way? For the money, not sure what I would gain over a Super Redhawk 44Mag. Anyone have any ballistic info for a 45-70 in a 10 inch handgun? As a good guess, perhaps the 45-70 has double the knock down power? If the revolver is a well made, reliable shooter?

Not a 45-70, but I use a BFR in .450 for Elk & Bear, zeroed on coke cans at 100 yards with the leverevolutin ammo, works great.

If scoped, I'm thinking about Leupold for me.
Not sure how lower cost scopes can handle the kick.

BFR's are well made. I have one in 475L/480 Ruger.

UltraDot Red Dot is (one of the) the least expensive "scopes" for a hunting revolver. Have a 2x Leupold on my SRH in 480 Ruger.

Just picked up a BFR in .45-70 myself. Should be plenty for white-tails.

I've fired about 4 cylinders worth of ammo through it so far- recoil is substantial with 300 gr. Partitions, but far more controllable than with full-power .454 Casull in 'smaller' (my Freedom Arms Field Grade) guns.

I find my BFR easier to shoot than the SRH in 480 Ruger. That was pretty much what I was hoping for when I bought the revolver.
