Jeez, talk about a run on sentance

Sounds like you need to start scouting out a new area.

During the cold months the deer are honing in on food-bedding. Find the trails that lead to and from each and you may see some. The ruts over for most practical purposes so scrapes/rubs are leftovers from earlier in the season. Good luck..J.R.

They're probably going through late at night or early in the morning after/before you get there.

Hunting a scrape this time of year is like waiting at the train station....after the train has left. Deer will be bunching up and working the rest of the winter on food. Not uncommon to see herds of 30-60 deer gleaning the fields.
