Help!! my 1911 rear sight is drifting!!

My Para P14-45 rear sight is drifting to the left while firing. What is the proper way to fix this? Should I dimple the sight and loctite it? Thanks in advance!!!

Drift the rear sight back in place and stake it in place. You could use one of the really tough to remove Loctites and see if that holds the sight in place before staking it.

The accepted method to fix it is to put a small dimple in the center of the dovetail cutout using a center punch, then re-install the rear sight. If done correctly the Loctite won't be necessary. In fact the Loctite isn't a good idea as it will make removing the sight in the future much harder, so do that only as a last resort.

Thanks for the replies!! I'll try the small dimple in the dovetail and see if this provides enough friction to keep the rear sight blade in place. I also like the idea of still being able to drift the sight to change POI, if necessary.
