Remington Sportsman 58

Hey guys I got a remingtom mod 58 thats got a problem. If you dry fire it you can cycle it all the way, but once its cocked the bolt will only move about a quarter of the way back. I can't for the life of me figure it out please help.
Thanks

Also... I forgot to ask if a remington 1100 trigger group will work in this gun.
Thanks

Many of the trigger parts are interchangeable, but I don't believe that the entire trigger group from an 1100 can be dropped into a 58, or vice versa.
