Bighorn vs. Winchester Silverado Safes
Looking for some opinions on these two safes.
Both are 60"x30"x24" and cost $1,000. Bighorn: 10ga steel 70 min @1200 fire rating (but doesn't say how much gypsum board they actually use). 10 door bolts (4 on sides, 1 on top/bottom) 700lbs Winchester Silverado: 12ga steel 90 min @1400 fire rating (2" of gypsum in body 1 7/8" gypsum in door) 12 door bolts (5 on sides, 1 on top/bottom) 680lbs I'm guessing the Winchester has more gypsum board than the Bighorn, which is nice. I was also wondering if having an extra bolt on each side would negate using thinner steel on the Winchester. Anyone have opinions on these? Any experience with Winchester's customer service? I have heard a lot of people say really good thing about the Rhino (who makes Bighorn) customer support. Does anyone know if the Winchester's are made in the US? Is there much of a difference in build quality and steel quality between US made and Chinese? Thanks! |
