460 S&W loads

I was trying several reloads the other day and found IMR 4227 42.5gr w/ 240 gr. bullet was good at 50 yds. (5" group) from bench rest. I then tried H110 46.6 gr. and same bullet and was a foot low and 6" to the left at 25 yd.s 3" group. Any thoughts as to why? The H110 load seemed hotter even tho both are middle of the road loads.

Did you try the H110 load at 50 yards? Tough to compare two different loads fired at two different distances (at least thats what I'm reading in your post). Both loads over a chronograph? I'd bet the chrony would give you a straight answer, it usually clears the air for me when I'm scratching my head.
