I dont know if this question has been asked before or not, but just incase im gonna add on my own little twist.... If you could only have one gun, what would it be?! ....But heres the catch.... It can only be one you HAVE OWNED at one point in your life or one you OWN NOW?!? Sorry.... Dream guns dont count in this one.

It’s like picking a favorite child…

I haven't owned a lot of firearms, so his poll forces my choice into a very specific and specialized role.

So, right now it's a fight between a pistol and a shotgun. The shotgun has the most utility since it can be used for shooting sports, limited hunting, and home defense. The pistol can be concealed.

It's a tie for now and your poll makes me grumpy since I have so few options.

I'm not sure I get the point of a thread like this. It depends heavily on the purpose being cited. My preference for CC is quite different than what I'd want for hunting, or home defense, or shooting at the range

I agree with BarryLee. I'll whisper so my other "kids" can't hear. Beretta 92FS.

The whole point of this is, "what is your favorite out of your entire collection?" basically.... Just imagine if you could keep only one, what would it be?

Without thinking about a need or use for one just think about what your favorite is.

Currently, it would have to be my Les Baer Monolith Commanche:

http://lesbaer.com/Monocom.html

As soon as Bill Laughridge and his crew finishes it, this 1911 will undoubtedly be my new choice:

And, as Barry stated, it's like picking a favorite child...just isn't fair...

Too difficult to answer and that's why we keep buying, selling and trading. For me probably a Colt 1991 in stainless. Or maybe a K-22. Or maybe a P-99. Or maybe....

Oh, man, this is easy! My most used gun and favorite to shoot...my Ruger 10/22 with a blue raptor stock and blue TacSol bull barrel. If my girlfriend also had a choice from my tiny collection, it would probably be the other 10/22.

I'd go with a Beretta 92FS because it's classy lines, great in hand feel, I can drive tacks with it, it has not failed me at the range yet, it shoots without the mag as I feel a pistol SHOULD do, and its ability to quickly load a single round through the ejection port if needed.

My O/U target gun - have a lot of fun with it; in a pinch it could be used for protection and hunting, but it's main purpose is turning clay targets into dust...

Well, if I could have only one gun it would have to be something I enjoyed shooting, which was reliable, simple to maintain, easily available ammo and trouble-free to carry/conceal.

Well, for me it can only be between a Redhawk .44 and a Glock 19. That is all I have, and so far all I've ever had!

Talk about chalk and cheese!!!

If pushed to choose, I'd have to say...

...actually I really don't know...

I would pick My Uberti 1847 Walker 44 cal black powder cap and ball six shooter. its universal firearm load from 25 grains to 60 grains of balck powder and round balls can be casted yourself as well as making homemade black powder if the case arises. so with all this up in air about firearms and ammo I would say This is my prefer one. I can use to put food on table good for wild pigs, deer, and 2 legged crazies lol.
