Well the shot the Doc gave me didn't help my back any, but the Z pack type of steroid pills he gave me several days later seems to have helped a lot. Not 100% yet, but getting there and better than being mostly flat on my back for almost a week and a half like I had been doing. So improving but keeping my fingers crossed.

Well my 35 year old buffer finally gave up the ghost and died on me a couple of days ago. It served me well, but time for a new one. I picked up a nice one on sale at Harbor freight but haven't even unboxed it yet.

When the old buffer started smoking and died, I wasn't finished with my buffing of my '58 Remy yet, but while I waited to get another buffer and waited for my back to get better, I went ahead and reassembled the Remy just to see how it would look overall from my buffing progress so far. The loading lever has hardly been buffed at all yet, and I still need more buffing to get the revolver to the point of shine of where I want it, but here she is so far. I took about a dozen pics but could only use these three since the glare from the shine was so bad.

Compare those pics to how it looked when I got it.

Once I get my new buffer clamped to my bench, I'll get the Remy buffed to my satisfaction. Then I might do a gold finish on the cylinder and then thinking of clear coating it with Moly K.G gunkote, or even perhaps taking my son's suggestion of clear powder coat it. I'll post updates as they happen.

Photos of the Remington look good.

Looks like a Grizzly mill/lathe/drill combo. Nice tool for revolver gun-smithing.
