need help with "17 Ackley" project...
so a buddy & I are building new sub caliber rifles... got to admit, that I have a few 17 Remingtons, but I'm hoping this new rifle will help rekindle my interest in shooting of the tiny bore... ( mines going to be built on a Martini Cadet action )
...as far as cartridges for this new project, we would really like to do a pair of 17 Ackley Hornets, but finding a matching chamber reamer to a pair of loading dies is a bit corn fusing... seems some have a 30* shoulder, & some have a 33* shoulder... couple that with he possibilty of other chamber demensional dfferences... has me doing lots of internet research right now... some are calling the 30* shoulder the 17 Ackley Improved Hornet, however, I'd think the sharper shoulder of the 33* shoulder would have a slightly larger case capacity, & should carry the "improved" moniker, unless there were other benifits other than case capacity to take into account with a slightly less angled shoulder ??? anyone own / load for this cartridge & can help point me in the right direction for a reamer that matches demensionally a set or two of dies ???

Check with Huntinton Die Specialties in CA. They can answer your questions and will make the dies you need. Not inexpensive, but very good products.
