Good technical books on handguns and longguns
I am looking for good technical books on handguns and longguns not general narrative books giving personal opinions. What do you recommend? Thanks so much.

Manufacturer's catalogs generally give the general characteristics and specifications of their products.
And the NRA has two books, for handguns and long guns, of take down and disassembly. Exactly what kind of information are you seeking? For ballistic information, consult ammunition manufacturer's charts. Bob Wright

Bob Wright had, IMhO, a very good suggestion, the NRA books.
I don't know why but I was really surprised to find them available through Amazon. For some goofy, and incorrect, reason I thought you'd have to get them through the NRA. Well they seem to be readily available thru Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...3Anra+assembly |

Dallhammer, The Textbook of Pistol Technology and Design
A kind of WHB Smith for pistols would be Dallhammer: The Textbook of Pistol Technology and Design, ISBN 978-3-8440-5810-9.
