Doesn't hurt at all, you will likely wind up getting some cleaning material stuck in the flash holes though. That will need to be cleaned out before you prime.

Gearhead said it right. Just keep a bent out paper clip, or safty pin to clean out the flash hole if it is clogged with media. I decap my .45 acp then tumble it. I keep the paper clip near. I usualy get a couple that have some media stuck in the flash hole. Takes about 2 seconds to clean it out.

I tumble, deprime and size, tumble again, then load lol.

Seems redundant but I like shiny brass, I use a Dillon Progressive loader and the first station de-primes so when I go to load it I just run it through that die first just like I normally would, that way the de-capper pin will knock crap out of the flash holes

I always tumble my brass after depriming and trimming to remove any brass scraps and to knock any sharp edges off the brass neck. Use a jumbo paper clip and just bend the one end out and you're ready to remove any left-over walnut from the primer hole. Also you can clean out any excess carbon that the walnut doesn't remove in the tumbliong process.
