Polishing a barrel
Ok i was up late last night, pizza, and had a thought and wanted to ask someone who obviously knows more than i. I have heard how lapping a barrel can be less than benificial if not done correctly be someone who has a clue. But my question is what if i did the same thing but used a patch and rod to "polish" the inside of my barrel? Would this cause a problem? I would only be removing any burrs left from manufacturing not actually opening tight spots? Would it be benificial at all? I would think (in my limited mind) that it would help in the long run, not as much as lapping but help none the less?
Whattaya think? Was this pizza affecting more than my gut or could it actually be a poor mans lapping (kinda) |

I can't see polishing hurting a barrel, might improve grouping a bit.

Get a Tubb's Final Finish kit. Will do all the polishing you need Consists of 50 coated bullets 10each with 5 gradually finer grits. Load them, shoot and clean per instructions.
