In case anyone is interested...
Bought a set of bone grips for my Colt through Etsy. A guy in Thailand is making these from water buffalo so no endangered species involved. I think they look good and they fit perfectly on my Series 80 Government Model. A little thicker than the original stocks but that's typical of aftermarket panels. I seriously can't tell them apart from my ivory 1911 grips. They cost $35 plus $8.50 shipping which I think is super cheap. Took 15 days to arrive. You get the actual set pictured on the selling site.
Like I said, in case anyone is interested. |

There's a guy in Vietnam who also makes 1911 grips from water buffalo horn. Nice workmanship, and affordable. IIRC, his name is Kim Son Vu.

The Vaquero grips are buffalo horn with bone inlay from the same guy in Vietnam. The SBH grips are imitation ivory from Altamont grips.

I really like those grips! Do you have a link where you purchased them?
