S&W M&P Early Victory Pistol?

I have just bought an M&P .38/200 serial no.667XX- 5" barrel, Blued finish with chequered wood grips and lanyard ring-a beautiful example that's unshot, with Australian Govt ownership markings-would like to know when it was made if possible.
Thanks.

See the pic for serial number location. There should be a "V" prefix.
Assuming the SN is V667XX it would date to ~1942.

Also new here. I have a couple of older S&W revolvers. Wonder when they were manufactured?
1) .357 Magnum Model 686. SN 854XX
2) .38 Special Model 60. SN 47XX
Thanks for your assistance.

Those are not SN's. Look at picture three post above this for location of serial numbers.

I picked up a model 36 no dash SN# 271519 the other day. Anyone mind telling me how old it is?

I'm not sure how much I'll shoot it, I just love the look and feel of these little J frames.

Best,
Tom

Hi everyone. I have been a member here for about a year but I have never posted. I have learned a lot from this forum - including the guide to used revolvers.

Which bring me to my question. I have purchased my first revolver - a Model 29 (29-3) w/6" barrel. It is extremely clean and I was told that it was more of a Safe Gun rather than a Range Gun. Which I can understand with this model. I plan on purchasing the Smith and Wesson Bible but like a kid with a new toy, I cannot wait to know when my gun was made.

The serial number is AUC43XX.

I thank you in advance.

Jim,

Thanks so much. I am sorry for not responding earlier but I was out of town for a family event in NY.
