80188 = Assuming it's a 6 shot, SN's ran from 73251 in 1906 to 146899 in 1909. But, they were not offered with a 2" barrel. There would be a matching serial number on the rear underside of the barrel if it's original to the gun. Jim |

S&W 38 M&P Date of Manufacture
I inherited a Smith & Wesson, .38 Military & Police Model / 1905 Hand Ejector, 4th Chg. from my father. The SN is 393XXX. Can anyone tell me the approximate year of manufacture and if this was / is a decent gun.
Thanks |

Hello all, I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could help me out with a s&w I just picked up. It's a model 10-11 heavy barrel round butt with serial number cdt1xxx. Any idea when it was made? Thanks in advance!

I have a few S&Ws I'd like to know their age. Thanks in advance for your help.
First is a nickel 6 shot with 32 Long CT stamped on the pencil barrel. The cylander opens out the side. It has pearl SW grips around the size of a J frame grip. 4 inch pencil type barrel. Serial number is 1772XX. Inside the crane is stamped 4338. Other than that no markings. S&W Model 49 2 in barrel. Wooden diamond J frame grips. Serial number 4941XX S&W Model 15-2 I believe Stainless steel Square wooden grips. 4 inch barrel. Serial number K5838XX. Thanks alot! Jonathan |

SN's ran from K555000 to K605877 that year. Factory finish for model 15's was blue or nickel. The nickel would be high polish. Jim |

Odd S&W ser. #
Hi,
I have recently come upon a mod 36 Chief's special with a ser. # AWCXXXX. I have the Supica and Jinks books and don't find that prefix anywhere. The gun is marked Mod 36, no dash number following. Any help is appreciated. Bill |
