In my opinion, no big loss there. Bumpstocks have always been a bit of a bad joke to me.
I feel Waspinator is absolutely correct in his interpretation.

If bump stocks were cheap, I'd buy one now. Not to use it, but just to tweak the gun grabbers. I'm to smart/cheap to buy something I'd never use.

If you are the only side giving, it WILL be nothing someday, no might about it; and no matter whether you do it a mail-order guns, firearms registration or bumpstock at a time.

The idea that giving them something will make them go away is delusional. They are going to be right back the next day asking for more. They don't even have bumpstocks yet and they already say that isn't enough. You're negotiating with a robber about how much you are going to let him steal; but by starting that negotiation you've already told him you are going to let him steal and why should he settle for less than everything? Because you were cooperative?

Well, if you live in Florida, bumpstocks were just banned.
Some folks here might be wise to keep in mind that the people behind this nonsensical bill called it a "baby step". It's not gun control; it's people control.

Bump stocks were probably invented to allow one to experience the thrill of automatic fire without the almost unattainable super expensive real article, by someone who desired to make a lot of money.
A poor mans machine gun.
I don't need one. I'd rather have the real thing if I could afford one.

I used one, built by a hobbyist out of PVC tubing, at a machine gun shoot of all things.

I found it awkward and difficult to use well. I have also bump fired using my thumb and a belt loop of my pants.

I see every slice taken away from the 2nd Amendment Cake as one more loss towards losing the whole cake.

After the Las Vegas attack, I tried to buy one, winning it on Gunbroker and talking on the phone with the seller. I didn't receive the stock nor hear back from him, I called him several times but he did not answer, my emails were not answered, so I cancelled the check. In my PO Box was my original payment letter, unopened, having been marked "return to sender." My check was inside. I don't know what happened there so I figured "God doesn't want me wasting $200.00 on something I'll never use."

If you think they want JUST bump stocks that'd be a nice thought. Next it's a mag over X amount, who needs them, pistol grips, who needs them, semi auto , who needs them. They aren't in it just for the bump stocks, it's everything, just a piece at a time. They will never be done until the right to bear arms will be nothing more than a story we tell our kids.

Nodak, but if we give them bump stocks they might go away for a while.. or maybe we can get them to let us deregulate suppressors in exchange..

I wonder if anyone who said that after LV still believes that.

It is incorrect to say that a bump stock is uncontrollable. I can mag dump a bump stock into an 8x11 target at 25 yards. People don’t give the bump stock enough credit.
So how well do you do at say 200 yds.

I don't like gun control laws, okay? Waste of time and psychic energy. But bumpstocks are like cocaine: God's way of telling you that you have too much money.

Originally, bump stocks weren't even a thing because bump-firing was originally outlawwed
by the BATF, then for whatever reason, they then un-did that...
I guess just to wait and see if anyone used one for an ill purpose...
so now the States are banning them, instead of the BATF...Interesting, yes?

All that just to shut down two companies that make bump-stocks...
which strangely enough, won't stop ANYONE from bump-firing
if they already know how to without using a bump-stock...which is pretty easy.

Lesser of two evils. Toss 'em bumpstocks to save AR's & AK's.

Lesser of two evils, Give 'em Age 21 for firearms if they'll also stipulate one has to be 21 to Vote.
Because that solves a whole lot of problems

I would call them a potentially dangerous novelty.

I also believe its a circumvention of full auto restriction.

I had never hear of them and I keep up on the current situation or so I thought.

Maybe never be used again. Usually full auto is a waste, the Vegas shooter setup for the ideal situation to make it effective.

The Vegas shooter would have killed hundreds and wounded thousands had he bought a belt-fed machine gun instead. He had the money to afford it and background to pass the checks. I assume he didn't know that much about it. Bump stocks were not the best idea for that attack as shown by "hundreds wounded and 58 killed." Also, he had several rifles and bump stocks, which shows how inefficient the device was.

Wow. 42% of forum members are OK with incremental gun prohibition. Noted.

used by armchair 'Rambos' that waste ammo and never had the sack to join the military.

Very dangerous opinion....basically rights are only for those that were willing and healthy enough to get into the military. Unfortunately this is a very common view on the Left. Interestingly enough it is the basis of the book Starship Troopers by Richard Heinlein. "Citizens" had rights because they had joined the world military whereas "civilians" did not have rights because they had not. The dystopia was Fascist in nature. *Movie touched on these themes and was much better than the book, in my opinion.

I'm not OK with incremental gun prohibition--I just happen to see the bumpstock as a device that "dances around the truth" functionally of what legally has defined the difference between a semi-automatic and fully automatic weapon. IMO--anyone who suggests that functionally a bumpstock equipped weapon is functionally operating in the manner of a semi-auto--with a trigger pull, reset and break for each cartridge fired, requiring the full cycle of the shooter's finger, is playing with the truth when in reality the gun's movement--as a result of the device--automates that trigger cycle, which in my opinion unquestionably makes it a fully automatic weapon. I wouldn't make em illegal--you just should need a license for one.

That is exactly where they should be in the same category as other fully automatic weapons. Legal to own if you pay the taxes on it.

Bump Stocks would still be a cheap way to achieve automatic fire.

Then repeal the Hughes Amendment and open the full-auto registry; add bump-stocks to that.

If you repealed the Hughes Amendment, bump stocks would be an antique novelty item nobody wanted overnight. And everyone would be registered, have a waiting period and all sales would undergo a more intensive background check... all these things antis say they want.
