Jogging with a TCP

Anyone out there who runs and could give me advice on the best (and yes, cutest way) to carry a TCP while running it would greatly be appreciated.

I have noted an abundance of holsters and not sure which would be the best for me. I'm not really a fanny pack kind of gal but if that is my only option, that is what I will do.

I wear shorts/capris and a t-shirt or a wicking shirts.

Welcome to the Asylum rlcassano...

There are lots of "under-clothing" type holsters available that position the gun where your body moves the least when running... crotch, abdomen, etc etc.
I'd check the Thunderwear website for starters.

Various Kel Tecs, and the Ruger copies, have a belt clip available. I'm not finding anything like that for Taurus' KT clone, alas. Perhaps one could be adapted.

Here is my set up. I use the hip pack to carry my wallet and extra mag.
This is a G19 in an IWB holster. I use the pack straps as my belt. Doesn't really really bounce around to much. I have ran about 4 miles without any issues.

Doesn't really have much in the way of a "cute" factor though

As a runner myself, your only real option is a fanny pack holster. Sweating on your gun, with a belt clip digging in your side doesn't sound like a good run to me.

Just a though, I don't wear them either, but what about various fuel belts? I'd almost bet you could find something with enough of a pocket to hold your TCP. Your best bet for quick access is a fanny pack though.

Fuel belts look just as silly as a fanny pack, but if you want to have a gun with you, you'll have to deal with one of the other.

Not to shy you away from getting set up with a nice pistol option, but have you considered just resorting to a good canister of pepper spray? They have some pretty powerful stuff now that fits in a little package. Just my preference, expecially if I was running/jogging.

That's a good suggestion Smit. My wife runs too and will carry a small pepper spray with her. If I felt the need to carry a weapon while running, I would certainly opt for the pepper spray over a pistol in a fanny pack.

No, it is not a phish. I have had to work 12 hour shifts and haven't had the ability to get on here lately. Thanks for all the input.

I have pepper spray and carry it with me in areas where I can't carry my gun because of laws. My husband prefers I carry the gun when I run.

I don't think I could wear a iwb holster because of the running/rubbing factor. Lately I have been carrying it in my pocket when I run but unless I wear a really long shirt, you can see the outline.

I will check on all the ideas and let you know what I decided. And will even come back and tell you what the outcome was after running with it

I love this holster - however, when I run I wear a sports bra and it won't attach to this. They have one for the sports bra but you have to access it under your arm and I am thinking that would be extremely uncomfortable.

Another idea, a bit rediculous in my mind but ya never know:

I saw they make fake "brass" knuckles that actually have an electric charge with the same voltage as a taser/stun gun. Just dont try to wipe sweat off yourself with that hand.....

They need to bring back those old brass knuckles they had in England a long time ago. Served as a set of brass knuckles with an extendable knife, and if you punched someone with it, it would shoot a bullet out the front. Sounds awesome to me.

I do not know if this one is good quality but a similar style of holster might work. You could probably shorten the chain then "strap" it down under your sports bra or something, so it doesn't bounce so much.

...even if it prints, most guys will (should?) get the picture that maybe your chest isn't the one to stare at and you're prob. not the person to mess with.

Might take a look at Kangaroo holsters. I use one occasionally for a small revolver. I'm not a runner, but wore this rig on a recent 13 mile canoe trip where I managed to tip over our canoe.......................gun and holster stayed put throughout the dunking..

I've never carried a TCP, but I really liked the belt clip when I jogged with my NAA. I carried it IWB in my jogging shorts with a shirt hanging over it.

Bulldog makes a holster for the TCP. It's a cell phone looking holster for the TCP.

Thanks for the input. I have looked at all. I really like the idea of the kangaroo. I think I could pull that off without too much difficulty and with most people not noticing it.

The rhinoholster is thinking outside of the box. I like that.

Mike: how did the gun hold up being dunked in the water from the canoe? Getting wet couldn't possibly have been a good thing.

It happens while camping (Heavy RAIN in So. MO. ALL DAY yesterday from the hurricane ), hunting, fishing etc...Truth be told it won't hurt any provided you break it down and thoroughly clean it. Neglect it and it will become a problem.
