C&R FFL Renewal

MY C&R FFL is coming close to its expiration date. Is the onus on me to renew on time, or will the BATF send me a renewal notice?

They normally send one out but remember the mail service is not 100% so if it close to time you need to contact them and get things straight in the works before expiration. If not and it expires you have to resubmit a new application and go through all over again the same process even if it's only one day late.

You should get your paperwork about 4-8 weeks before it expires. I just renewed in Sept.

They ask how many firearms you have acquired with your liscense and how many you have disposed of. Boy, was that a shock. I had a net gain of 15 guns! That may not sound like many, but I was really surprised.

You can call the BATF and ask when you should be concerned!
