Is IMR 4064 forgotten?
I'm sure the canisters sitting in the cabinet hope they have been forgotten. But little do they realize as they slumber away that I shall shortly drain them of all their energetic potential and leave behind nothing but plastic shells of what once was.

I use it for .223 and 30-06 (Garand). Works just fine.

Also, I see it on the shelf all the time, even at gun stores which are not particularly focused on reloading.

What a great thread! IMR4064 forgotten? Not hardly. When I had my 22-250, I used the Sierra 55gr bthp[#1390?] and 35.0gr IMR4064, Superb accuracy, just forget the fps.
In one of my 30-06's, using the Hornady 150 Interlock FB, 52.0gr of IMR4064 gives me 2900+ MV and again, superb accuracy. Forgotten? No way.

It's my go to powder for 30-06 and 270. I keep a decent supply in storage...

They should make a SC-4064 like they do other powders. just a thought, I'd buy it.

No, its long grained. Modeled after an old powder called IMR1186 that was used in National Match Ammunition a couple of times between the wars.
