Winchester model 70 external magazine conversion

I just bought a used Winchester 70 with a "blind box" and was wondering what I would need to convert it to an external magazine. If it's even possible.

Are you talking about a detachable box magazine, or converting to one with a floor plate? Either way it is probably going to be more cost effective to sell the rifle you have and buy what you want.

There aren't many options available for Winchester DBM's. Especially long actions. You have more options if you want to convert to a floor plate, but neither option is cheap and would also require either a new stock or major modifications to the one you have.

On a hunting rifle a blind magazine isn't a handicap at all and even preferred by many, including me.

I was talking about a detachable box and yeah it is a long action specifically a .300 win mag

PTG makes a detachable magazine system for the Model 70.

The problem in having is when a round is feeding from the right side of the magazine it just seems to pop out most of the time completely out of the rifle
