They are a great cleaning tool for sure. Just check and double check to make sure all SS pins are out of casings before reloading. They are much easier to hide in rifle cases.

With stainless steel being harder than brass, are there any concerns about potentially thinning out the cases over a long period of time?

I have a dedicated, clean tumbler which is great for making my Martini's.
Now they can be "shaken", "stirred" or "tumbled".

Yes, the wet tumbling/cleaning method is my preferred way to get the brass clean:

It appears to be the same reason that I like my OLD tumbler with sst pins.

Nope. Not here. Remember that these cases are tumbled wet - in a solution of water, dish soap and (usually) citric acid. The liquid acts as something of a lubricant - in the brass I've run through my Thumler, I see no signs of abrasion or scratching of the brass at all other than the normal marks you'd see from the initial drawing of the brass into the cartridge shape.
