Yea, I tried that lube once and after placing my revolver in the bucket to lube it I found it stained the grips, the holster, my pants and shirt. It also made the gun hard to hold on to and when I dropped it on the ground I had to soak it in gasoline to get the dust and dirt out of it. The gasoline stared burning - I think it was from the cigarette I as smoking so I grabbed the water hose and tried to put it out the whole garage started to burn. By the time the fire department got there the house was totaled.
In short that lube cost me not only a new gun but a new house and garage and the insurance said it was arson so they didn't pay a dime. That is the worst lube I have ever seen and I will never use it again. The above is a purely fictional story. Any likeness to events that may have happened and people it may have happened to is purely accidental. |

Lucas - White Lithium Grease - Used for many years. Holds up well in temperature, doesnt get hard. Allows carbon to be easily wiped away - even on my piston AR's. It's great stuff!

The lubricant that I use is not only the best but the only kind that is any good at all.
Beyond all doubt! Try "Red n Tacky" instead. Stays put. Real sticky! ( Thank you Internet Genius, whoever you were...) |

Sounds like pretty much any light grease applied sparingly will work fine. Possible exception being Frog Lube.

One of my neighbors moved several years ago and gave away a bunch of stuff, including a case of tubes of some kind of automotive grease. Works for me. One tube will last a lifetime for Methuselah.
