Is there such thing as a 460 magnum carbine or rifle?
I have seen lots of 45LC carbines and a few 454 Casule Carbines as well as a few 500 Magnums but never a 460 magnum carbine? Is there such an animal?

I think you mean the 460 S&W Magnum, the big pistol cartridge. Can't think of any. Of course, there is the 460 Weatherby Magnum, a different animal altogether.

You can get 20" Encore barrels in .460S&W. It makes for a great rifle. The .460S&W out of an 8+" revolver comes out at around 2300fps. Out of a 20" closed-breech barrel, it comes out at 2800+fps. That makes it a pretty serious thumper.

The Big Horn Armory Model 89 levergun is chambered in .50 S&W Magnum.
IMHO, it should do anything a .460 S&W Mag can do, and more. . |
