Helwan Brigadier
I just aquired a helwan 9mm, not to familiar with it, does anyone else own one. I was told that they are an exact copy of the beretta 1951. Do the parts enterchange and such?

Parts should interchange, made on the same machinery, helwans are just a little more rougher finished.Bought one of each back in around 1990 on the same table at a local gunshow.Never tried to swap parts though.

Yes, parts should interchange. The Beretta Brigadier (they later re-used the name) was a decent gun, just behind its time, a single action pistol when the world was going to double action. Beretta built on the experience, though, and came up with some good DA pistols.

Parts will interchange, or at least they did many years ago when I had one.
They are actually good, reliable and inexpensive little guns. When I bought my first Helwan they could be bought for $100.00...that was about 25yrs ago. |

Thanks for the info guys, i really like the little gun. I got sausage fingers so i tend to lean towards the single stack pistols, and this one fits perfectly in my hand.

Sounds like others have had luck with their Helwan.Mine was a poorly made piece of junk and completely unreliable.
