Can't find load data for AA2200 powder in .223

This stuff is dirt cheap, and from what I hear, pretty good for the price. I looked in my four manuals, and can't find data for it. Theres data for 2230, but not 2200.

Also, whats the deal with this powder? Is it surplus or what?

I use it in my .223. There is load data at accurate arms website. Places that sell their powder usually have manuals. There is also some data on the container.

i got 32 pounds the other day and started out with 23 grains in my Dissapator it shoots lower than my 26.2 gr load of 748 so i've loaded a hundred with 22 gr of 2200 to see if my group moves up any. i like all my loads to shoot about the same place. since i don't have a chrono i don't if its shooting lower because its hotter or milder but going to range sunday AM and i'll know for sure, (i hope). Dick

Pretty tall order...getting all your loads to shoot at the same p.o.a. Don't you have adjustable sights or a scope?

yes i've got a whole case full of goodies such as aimpoints/relexes/Art 4 3x9 with optima on top-most of local 3 gun matches are 125 yd max so POI shooting IPSC targets does not have to be that precise. i just like the idea of grabbing one of 10-15 ammo cans full of 223 and knowing that it all shoots basically the same place give or take an inch...Dick

You asked what's the deal with the powder. It is a surplus czech powder originally formulated for 7.62x39. Its a fairly fast burning powder so it works particularly well with small cases and light bullets. I use 23gr, IMI 55gr FMJ, LC brass and WSR primers. There is a fairly complete data sheet for the powder at http://www.accuratearms.com/loadinfo.html (scroll down the page a bit)

According to AA, when this batch of 2200 is gone, there won't be any more so get all you need now.
