Too many to list. I have three drawers full of dies in a metal file cabinet. Some of the more exotics would be the 38/45ACP, 8x48R, 219 Donaldson Wasp, 7x61 S&H, 6/284, 261x47 Dietz, 6x45 Ingram, and I guess we could throw in the 30/338mag just for fun. Otherwise, pretty much the common stuff like the others have listed like the 6.5x06, 257 Ackley, 308, 3006, 350 Rem Mag, etc. I have a head start on most as I've had this sickness for the last 45 years of buying guns and reloading for them. I can't tell you how many Winchester 94s I have bought in pristine condition that I only give $200. for and these are the old 94's- worth mega bucks today. Winchester 92s, Marlins, 03A3s, Garands, and there is no known cure for this illness. I guess I'll have to go buy something Monday.

The question should be, "How many different cartridges do you reload?" But I will play the game and answer in terms of CALIBER. I have loaded at one time or another:
Rifle .223 - 4 separate CARTRIDGES 6mm - 3 cartridges .257 - 1 cartridge .264 - 2 cartridges .277 - 1 cartridge .284 - 2 cartridges .308 - 4 cartridges .311 - 4 cartridges .323 - 1 cartridge .338 - 2 cartridges .358 - 1 cartridge .375 - 1 cartridge Pistol .308 - 2 cartridges .311 - 1 cartridge .312 - 1 cartridge .355 - 3 cartridges .357 - 2 cartridges .365 - 1 cartridge .400 - 2 cartridges .401 - 1 cartridge .429 - 1 cartridge .451 - 1 cartridge .452 - 2 cartridges

Thanks for saying it so I didn't have to Shoney
And I think the question should be "How many cartridges do you reload for with regularity?" Just because someone loaded 100rnds for a gun 20 years ago and still has 75 of them, does that mean he reloads for that cartridge? If you regularly loaded 32 cartridges, you'd have to either be retired with NOTHING else to do, or have a wonderful wife (who you never see) who works and gives you all her money LOL. And orders all your loading supplies because you would have no time to talk on the phone or go to the store, or go online, or...... LOL Last edited by mrawesome22; April 29, 2007 at 04:45 PM. |

Hey, now!
Regarding the 26 different chamberings I handload for, if I don't find a given gun worth shooting, I sell it and the reloading dies - I'm not counting any hangers-on. As for the stereotype, I did just retire, my wife was a Marine, and she takes turns at the Dillon presses, as do my two stepsons. We reload because we aren't made of money, and if we want to shoot our 200+ guns and get decent practice, bulk reloading is the only way to go. Not to mention all the obsolete, wildcat, and dried-up milsurp ammo you don't get at WallyWorld...
(I suppose I could just spend the day playing WarCrack or posting on gun forums...) |

I'm a piker compared to some of you guys.
.38 S&W (actually .380/200 for a Webley) .38 Special .357 Magnum .44 Magnum .22-250 .222 I have a .32 ACP, but don't bother reloading it since it gets shot so rarely. I'm thinking of adding .45 ACP and .223, if I pick up new guns. |

All in good time, moose fat. I'm way behind the power curve, but enjoying the journey...

Currently... a total of twenty (which was a surprise to me since I never counted up before)
I don't own a set of dies that I do not use for guns I currently own. I don't drink, chase skirt(s), own a boat, work on cars etc....this IS one of two hobbies I enjoy... the other...SHOOTING the ammo I've reloaded. My wife (and best friend and favorite shooting buddy) is just fine that I "don't get out much" because when out, I'm with her...(i.e. out to dinner or out to the range). Twelve (13) Handgun Calibers: .22 Remington Jet-single stage .32 S&W Long-progressive .380 ACP-progressive .38 S&W-progressive .38 Special-progressive .357 Magnum-progressive .357 Maximum-progressive .41 Magnum-progressive .44 Special-progressive .44 Magnum-progressive .45 Auto Rim-progressive .45 ACP-progressive .45 Colt-progressive Six (7) Rifle Calibers: 7-30 Waters-single stage .243 Winchester-single stage .25-06 Remington-single stage .270 Winchester-single stage 30-30 Winchester-single stage .30-06 Springfield-single stage .308 Winchester-single stage Bob

Considering that only 3% of shooters reload (worldwide) then you're way ahead of the game.
I'm at 20 calibers and counting. No need to list them, most the standard calibers and a few oddballs. |
