Tactical advice from Joe Biden
It seems that the Vice President thinks we should arm ourselves with double barrel shotguns and buy some shells if we are worried about home security.
I guess if anyone thinks they need more than a $5,000 trap gun and some shotgun shells to protect their homes, they should consult their personal security team. I also don't see how this statement jives with a ban on "assault weapons": Biden noted that "it's not about keeping bad guns out of the hands of good people, it's about keeping all guns out of the hands of bad people. Even a blind squirrel finds a pecan every now and agin. He could of offered worse advice than a shotgun.
Senator Feinstein would probably of recommended a nail file. |

You know I have heard much worse advice in gun shops, gun shows and internet forums. When the VP goes off script in live interviews it is nothing but gold.

Says the man who is routinely driven about in a caravan by the USSS, armed with the latest and greatest in PDWs from the fine folks at FN.
I don't think I've seen the USSS with a shotgun, much less a double barrel, since, gosh, I don't know.

Adamc- nice Hendrix ref
Really a double barrel is about the worst HD choice, well other than a single shot rifle and a one eyed dog (figured id keep the music theme goin) Still I don't see an AWB going through. A concerned about the mag limits, think reps will give in as a compromise. Worst thing would be having that piggy backed on the spending reduction bill. |

We're just getting silly here.
(Even though the subject is so rife with irony.)

The best part was that he recommended it for an earthquake.
I grew up in Houston where earthquakes don't exist. Does that mean I don't need a shotgun there?

This is why you do not hear of many preppers burying their guns in pvc piping along the San Andreas Fault line. It would amount to a free gun turn-in.

Wow, crazy Uncle Joe is right on. I am going to take all my guns, burn the stocks (at least the wood ones) in the fireplace, and have all the metal parts melted down and made into a sculpture of the Moonbat Messiah. Then I will go out and buy a double barrel shotgun. I won't buy shells until the disaster strikes, because Uncle Joe says it is okay. I wonder what type shells Uncle Joe would recommend?

The irony is impressive but the advice could be a lot worse. He's comparing the choices of AR versus shotgun, in which case I'd pick an AR every day and twice on Sunday, but I'd pick a 12ga double over a LOT of other choices for HD.

it sure is funny and everything how a guy like that says what he does. Theres a reason im better off sometimes electing other people and the nra to speak for me because all that stuff does is aggrivate me. sometimes its tough for me to get past it without getting worked up, i know this can be a problem. What bothers me the most is i think most people have been safe and secure for so long that they dont know what a bad situation is, and these people will believe stuff like that. "You dont need that, a 2 shot weapon works just as well". Though its coming from a guy who will never have to worry about himself with his personal guardsmen and his high security mansion and the gates that surround it. Taking advantage of people that know no better than to watch TV believing whats on it is true to advance ones personal agendas. The stuff just agrivates me.

Why .....
Did Obama put Biden in charge of the gun control issue? Is Biden making such obviously stupid remarks? Shouldn't the Vice President be the "go to" for the party nomination for President @ the end of the second term? All of this buffonery from Biden is sure to be a poison pill for him in 2016. It's almost as if the Obama administration is doing things to make sure Biden won't stand a chance if he runs - or even gets the nomination for that matter. Things like this bother me more than the actual comments. |

Yeah, I'll start getting my defense advise from Biden the day after I get my constitutional law advise from Dianne Feinstein....which will be the day after I start getting fitness advise from Chris Christie

The local gun stores around here have quite a few evil black shotguns.
Biden also said that that if you need more than one shot you should go to the range. Start a petition to the WH that Joe's team be armed with SW Model 10s with RNL rounds and the double barrel shotgun with two rounds of bird shot. No reloads.

He tipped his hand when he said, "double-barreled". They want to ban everything eventually but would settle for a total ban on auto-loaders and repeaters for now. What I use to defend my house should be up to me.

Sounds like Biden has been watching too many movies... I'd choose an AR15 over a double barrel any day. Its really not that hard to use an "assault rifle" either, first time I ever shot an AR15 I was surprised at how incredibly easy it was to consistently hit a target at 50 yards away.

A person could do worse than a double barrel shotgun as a home defense firearm. It's better choice than a single shot, for example. What I object to is the claim that it is the best choice and that even persons trained to use "assault weapons" would be better off with a double barrel shotgun.

I think I'd go with a good pump action instead.
Wasn't that double barrel really popular with stage coach drivers? Opps, sorry that advice is a 140 years out of date. |
