Looking for that "right" semi-auto
I'm looking for a semi-auto that:
1. will cycle 7/8 and 1 oz "lite" loads. (no more sore shoulder) 2. very low recoil is important (wife wants to shoot) 3. is easy to strip down for cleaning 4. is reliable in a wet enviornment (Florida) The Benelli Vinci and Beretta Xtrema 2 seem to fit my requirements. Comments on this or other suggestions are greatly appreciated. |

You didn't say hunting or target. I'll guess hunting from the choices in your post. However, the lite loads you talk about speak target.
Here are two to look at: 1. Benelli Super Sport or Sport II 2. Remington 1100 Competition |

the extrema 2 is a big gun. judging by your light load requirements, you don't need a 3 1/2" gun. look at a 391.

The Benelli's will cycle 7/8 or 1 oz loads as long as they are 1200 fps - which to me is a light load .......but it depends on what you mean by a "light load".
I would add a Benelli Super Sport ( synthetic stock, with comfort tech system in it )/ the Super Sport is my only semi-auto these days in 12 and 20ga. Its a good travel or rain gun / does everything pretty well - bird hunting, sporting clays, skeet and some Trap. Its not a great Trap gun, in my opinion, because I can't get it's point of impact high enough to float the target ... but I don't use it as a "dedicated gun" for any single game either / but its a very versatile gun - that I would buy again.
