Ruger 10/22 takedown barrel wobble

Is there supposed to be wiggle on the barrel of a 10/22 takedown? I can see the breech barely moving on mine and I'm not sure if it is normal. It doesn't seem like it would be.

Doesn't sound normal. You should call Ruger customer service. They are really good and can advise you.

I've always been suspicious of takedown guns being or remaining accurate when the scope is not attached to the barrel and receiver. AR's have the best set up I've seen for takedowns...imho

There is a nut between the barrel and receiver that can be adjusted to remove all wobble. Read the manual, it describes how. The nut can be seen in this photo.

Read the manual on how to tighten the nut. Tighten it until the wobble is gone.

I know it's not very manly but read page 15 and 16 here.

Just my opinion --

At our Women on Target classes - every so often a woman will bring in a brand new take-down they got for a present -- during their class - as the armorer I'll test it just to make sure they're safe

Every one I've shot ( 10 + ) -- I'll bench rest - same point of aim - what ever group I get --- take off the barrel - put it back on -- re-shoot --- not one got the same grouping twice

To me -- they can have they're place - just not in my safe

Your milage may vary ?
