Loose cap screws
Today I removed the covers from my scope and noticed both cap screws were loose but the adjustments were unchanged. Could that change point of aim just being loose?

No. Unless there were "click" changes, it's just as if you loosened them to reset your zeros and didn't re-tignten them (which may be why they were loose to begin with?).

I did loosen them & zeroed the cap at a 200 yard zero. Haven't checked the cap in about a year even though I shoot every Sunday weather permitting. Very rarely adjust the scope, I've been shooting the same bullet & powder load for years at 200 yards. The rifle can shoot better then me. I have very good days & bad. Just love bench rest shooting. |
