When I open the cylinder there is a 10-6 number and on the butt of the gun the Serial # C659xxx

Also I've seen some really nice aftermarket grips (hogue/pachmayr) that I might want to add. What size frame do I have? I think K but I'm not 100%
1963/64 and it's a "K" frame. As for the finish... ?????

so i have an old smith and wesson with the serial # of 13085 with a star after the numbers, on the barrel it says 44 special CTG and the other side of the barrel has a bunch of patent #s. the gun is nikel. from everything ive seen reaserching online i think it is a triple lock but im not sure.
Pixs help, but the serial number and caliber would make it a .44 Hand Ejector 1st Model (Triple Lock) made in 1913. The "star" suffix indicates it went back to the factory for repair and/or refinish.

That old, I doubt it. But you could still call and ask. Unless the finish is pretty bad I would not mess with it.
BTW, S&W stopped using the star designation for factory refinish/rework back in the 50's/early 60's.

Hey all,
I have a S&W .38 Special J-frame bodyguard snubby that was my grandfather's service revolver. I believe it's a model 38. I'm curious the DOB range.

Thanks much

Serials numbers ran from 125000 in 1957 to 295000 in 1962.

1969. +P is okay. The condition of the nickel (scratches, scuffs, cloudiness)makes a big difference on value but from ~$250 to $400 neighborhood.

Hi all,
I have recently inherited a couple of my fathers guns and would really appreciate knowing the date of manufacture. The first one is a model 25-2 (.45 acp) serial N758xxx and the second is a 19-3 serial K893xxx. Thanks in advance for any help.

Recheck the "LT". Serial numbers for the M40 started at 1 in 1952 to 30160 in 1971 then L1 in 1971 to L9861 in 1974. Get the serial number from the bottom of the grip butt.

1986.

N758XXX = 1980
K893XXX = 1969

i have a 66-2, ALDxxxx, that was made late '85

according to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, your AJTxxxx was made between Jul. & Nov. 1985

I'm not familiar with the S&M cartridge, sounds kinda kinky.

Anyways, your gun was made in September or October of 1942.
