One Glock, which one would it be?

I have owned 4 Glocks the last 8 years, shot a rental Model 21 back in the early 90's, liked it.

My first Glock was a Model 17 Gen. 3 with the extra rough textured frame for hot weather, my next was a Model 19 Gen. 3, and a Model 26 Gen. 3, all bought new. Seemed there was some redundancy so sold all but the Model 19, because it is an ideal size and was similar to the Model 17 and Model 26.

Then wanted a .45 ACP and bought a used Model 21 Gen. 4. Overall, I think the Glock Model 19 is the best, seems the most popular too. There are quite a few other models to choose from, anyone here prefer a different version over the 19, and if so why?

I prefer the G26 for my uses. I am not very big, so it conceals better than a 19, and I shoot it as well or better. They all sell pretty well, though, which tells me that each has its fans.

The G26 is my all around home protection/carry gun. I like the G19 but cannot carry it. I think when I get my next full size gun its going to be a 1911 rather than the G19 (which is what I was planning)

Mine is a 30S... like .45 ACP, and like the flexibility with 9, 10, or 13 rounders. Might consider a 41 to go with it... but not in the foreseeable future.

If it was just one... I'd pick a G19, gen 2. Small enough for cc, but big enough for a house gun.

Glock 27. Buy conversion barrels for 9mm, shoot the 9mm for practice and maybe carry, when the next panic hits, switch to .40 because the ammo is always available. Also, if .357 Sig ever gets popular from possible military use or increased police use, you can convert it to that too.

Beyond conversions, the size is great. I don't like short barrels because of the sight radius, but modern JHP ammo works just fine from the short barrel. I like short grips, especially with Glock since you can use the longer magazines and even use a spacer to cover the extended portion and use it as a longer grip.

It's a very modular pistol and I plan on getting one since there's such low demand, the prices are so low it's almost theft.

I'm not saying that the 9mm variants of the Glock .40 pistols are a bad choice, but they are a limiting choice and more expensive.

Also, I will say the G17 and G22 are completely pointless. If you want the larger size, go with the 34/35 instead and get better velocity, accuracy, the better trigger, and less recoil. Then, the 19 and 23 size is smaller and more comfortable, but IMO, just as accurate and gets as good velocity as the 17/22 does, but in a more size efficient package.

I only have one Glock, a Gen 2 Glock 19 that I bought new in the early 90s. Glock 19 is extremely popular for a reason being it is the gold standard for a concealable 15 round 9MM pistol in regards to size, weight, having a full grip, reliability, and durability.

Many seem to do well with just the Glock 26 also and with the 12 round magazine most can get a full grip on it and still have the option for 10 rounds for deep concealment.

I own a G26 and a G17. In the past, I've owned a G23 and a G30.
I've often said the G26 is the last pistol I will part with.

Since I have no use for any glock I can find in other brands, I suppose the G40 maybe G20SF (I did have a 20 once)

Ditto ritepath, no use for a Glock, ..... except a G 18.
Doesn't everyone need a full auto handgun?

G29. I can carry watered down 10MM or full power rounds when necessary and G20 mags for capacity!

Still haven't owned one. I've shot several and like them, just not as much as the people selling them like them. I was close to going for a G20 this week but went another direction. My practical side wants a G17 or G22. Maybe someday.

I'll be the first...

...to go with Glock 43. I've had a couple G19s and while they are great guns, they are chunky and tough for me to use as a ccw. The chunkiness also plagued the G26 I bought. The 43 had the thin profile I wanted, and I still get the reliability and use friendliness of all Glocks. I'm a civilian, so a high capacity pistol isn't really necessary, and I do carry a spare mag.

Why stop at the G17 and G22, if you want the larger size, go with the G17L or G22L instead and get better velocity, accuracy, the better trigger, and less recoil.

Why in the world would anyone want anything in between?

Gen 4 Glock 19 MOS. It's my carry gun. It has enough capacity to take care of business.

For versatility I'd consider a Glock 35 since it can be converted to different calibers and still be used for a competition.

I have a hard time speaking on behalf of "most people", my hunch is that among those who own one, they might probably agree that the G-19 is the best overall "G". When I shoot my 17 alongside my 19 (both Gen3's), same ammo, targets, etc., I think I hit my targets slightly better with the 17, but not that much better to make me not want to carry the 19.

Why would anyone want anything in between? Personal preference, whatever they shoot best with.

While the 19/23 size is the most popular of all the Glocks, I can basically make one of them, with a half inch shorter barrel to boot, by taking a subcompact 26/27 and using compact magazines and the X Grip. Right there I have a Glock 26 when I use standard mags or a Glock 19 with 19 mags.

Forget about the Sig's "Modular Handgun System" Glock's already had it for deecades.

G22 here. Everything about it. I'm a 40 fan to start with (like others as well) but the weight, fit everything in my hand is perfect. Only Glock I own and have owned for the last 8 years. Shoot is pistol on average about 4-5 days a week. Absolutely love it.

I own all the Glock 9's except the 17L. If given the choice it would be the 19 that would stay.

I have only 1 Glock. Do not plan to get another as I tend to be a hammer fired person and all my other pistols are hammer fired.

Got the G27 because I like 40 S&W (I have two FNH 40s). Got a 357 Sig barrel for the G27 because I also like the 357 Sig (also have 357 Sig barrels for the FNH 40s).

I was looking for a 40 S&W for pocket carry and the G27 kept coming up. I walked into a local dealer and they had one so I purchased it on the spot for a good price.

I like the G27! Shoots very well and is tolerable to pocket carry. 9+1 or 13+1 magazines.
