Recovered Bullets

The bullet on left is the RCBS 45-255-K sized .452 with RCBS rifle lube. The center bullet was recoved from a Montana whitetail. The bullet broke a rib entering the right side. The left bullet was recoved from the left shoulder of same deer.

The load was 9.0 grs. of Unique fired from my 4 5/8" Liberty Model Blackhawk. The sholder shot was 45-50 yards and the rib shot just a couple feet. Mr. Keith once told me the rib bones were about the toughest on any animal. The center bullet tends to bare this out.

Appreciate the info and picture. I have wondered how that bullet would do on deer. I've used it for bowling pins but never hunted with it. Actually I'm surprized to see that much deformation on the nose of the center bullet.

Thanks, Griz

Your welcome Griz. It surprized me also. I took this buck in 1978 and have not seen one of our bullets deformed in game like this one since. What's really surprizing is the both bullets stayed in the deer.
