Quick reply window

I don't see the Quick Reply window. Does this site not have that feature or am I doing something wrong?

As far as I know, we've never had a quick reply window.

Well that certainly explains why I have not received any quick replies on my window.

Back when that feature became a part of the Vbulliten upgrades, we chose not to enable it.

Our thinking was along the lines of: We (the Staff) have always encouraged members to read the thread before making replies, as many times any answer has already been made. Whether it be questions or comments. By enabling this feature, it encourages the member to answer/question/comment on something that has already been answered/questioned or commented upon.

Good point, but it is frustrating when trying to reply to specific points in a post; I either have to print out the post or keep going back to the main thread. Any chance of reconsidering?

"I either have to print out the post or keep going back to the main thread."

You have to print out the post? As on paper?

Why? Copy and paste it into the reply window.

Also, if it's a multi-page thread I'll sometimes open each page in a different tab, and the reply screen in yet another tab.

I see people quoting another post and there are instructions for how to do it in quick reply. But, since we don't have quick reply how do you respond with quote ?

Look up near the top of this forum for "How do I quote from a post?" Post #4 in that thread is especially helpful.

I'm missing something. Oh well, I made it this long without it.

Are you missing looking at the linked thread in my post? It's really not difficult to quote just about anything you want to with a minimum of effort.

This is what you did:
ZeroJunk
I'm missing something. Oh well, I made it this long without it.

That's a nested quote.

What you should have done was:
I'm missing something. Oh well, I made it this long without it.
Look closely at the difference. The above looks like:
