I tried to understand how this drill works, and it's not adding up. I think the instructions for each portion of the drill are after the course rather than before.

Very confusing (to this olde dinosaur).

You fire the specified number of rounds at each distance, with the time limit for each distance as shown. At the end of the 30 shots, count up your score.

What part did you find confusing?

30 rounds total, 300 points possible, 270 lowest passing, strings start from Low Ready.

25 yards 5 rounds 30 seconds (With the target at 25 yards, fire 5 rounds with a time limit of 30 seconds)

15 yards 5 rounds 10 seconds (Same as above but at 15 yards and with a time limit of 10 seconds)

7 yards 10 rounds 12 seconds Start with 5 rds only in the gun; 5 rounds, reload, 5 rounds (With the target at 7 yards, fire 5 rounds, reload and fire another 5 rounds with a time limit of 12 seconds)

5 yards 5 rounds 5 seconds (With the target at 5 yards, fire 5 rounds with a time limit of 5 seconds)

5 yards 3 rounds 3 seconds Start gun in hand, at ready, using dominant hand only (With the target at 5 yards, fire 3 rounds dominant hand only with a time limit of 3 seconds)

5 yards 2 rounds 3 seconds Start gun in hand, at ready, using non-dominant hand only (Same as above but with only 2 rounds and using the non-dominant hand only)

John's way of laying out the course of fire is much easier to comprehend.

As it turns out, Tom, your April 2019 drill uses the exact same name (which is confusing enough), but was presented in a much clearer manner and is a completely different drill. I pulled that up on my computer and used it as a template to reformat the new drill, before Is aw that John had done pretty much the same thing.
