Which handgun manufacturers test fire before shipping?
I was wondering which handgun manufacturers test fire the gun before shipping.
Also, do they ship the spent brass and a target showing the results of the firing? This question implies which handgun manufacturers do not test fire their guns before shipping. My S&W Walther PPK/S came with an envelope with spent brass in it. It has been 27 years but it seems like my S&W Model 659 had some spent brass with it, but I am not sure. My recent Browning BHP's have an envelope in each case that feels like there is brass in there, but never got around to opening it up. My Sig P238, Sig P229, and Sig 556 did not have any used brass. My other recent purchases were used so no info to be gathered there. Now just because there was no brass doesn't not prove that the weapon wasn't test fired at the factory. It just shows there is no brass shipped. Brass in the package does show test firing.

As far as I am aware of, most if not all companies test fire their weapons.
However, I may be wrong. |

CZ test fires it and includes a print out of the results of 5 shots. Ironically, they do not enclose a spent casing.

Most of the major & minor names proof test, which is a form of test fire. Few nowdays test for accuracy.
The fired brass from those who ship them is included for those states that require one. Denis |

Certain states such as NY require "ballistic fingerprints" .That means the gun must be fired and you get a case and the state does also as I understand. That is different from firing for accuracy , then you get a target. They may also fire for proper functioning.

I didn't get a spent shell casing with my Manurhin/Walther PPK/S .22. However, I did get the target, (shot at 15 meters) with the guns' serial number and signed by the shooter

So are all guns test fired for a pressure test? I wonder.
I hadn't considered it but there could be test fire for function and test fire for accuracy.

Glock provides 2 spent casings, as well, for the above reasons. The list of those who don't is going to be way shorter.

The CZ that I bought came with the two empty casings but no printout of 5 shots being fired. I purchased it back in 2009. All of my Glocks, and my XD, and my Ruger all came with two empties each. |

IIRC Atlantic Firearms is not a manufacturer. I believe they are simply a retailer or importer. If you look on the website (or rifle) it will tell the actual manufacturer and/or importer.
AK rifles are little unique because there are laws requiring a certain number of domestic parts to be legal. Most AK rifles, are assembled by CAI (Century Arms) from surplus "parts kits" and some US made parts to make them compliant. CAI has a reputation for quality control issues. Also, some AK variants are simply better than other variants.

I may be moving back to NY. If so, do I need to have my FFL dealer in WI include spent casings? I hate NY.

I believe Wilson Combat fires each weapon ~85 times before shipping with the last three rounds fired for "score"! The "score" target is included with each gun.

Some even include the target, Ruger, Winchester, Remington & Browning if I recall correctly, though it usually applies to rifles and sports pistols. |
