Can I manage 1000 yard with my barrel ? Last edited by Alfalover; July 27, 2010 at 03:59 AM. Reason: 1000 YARDS |

The 168's may be borderline successful. Under some conditions they will go subsonic before reaching the targets. It takes a stiff load for them to reach 1000 yds supersonic. 175 's might be a choice to look into as they were designed to maintain velocity at distance.
I have fired 168's at 1000yds and while they remained fairly accurate they did not always enter the target straight on. [AKA keyholed]

Thanks David,
I had the same idea; but someone said me that with a barrel 22" 1:12" heavy bullets haven't stability. They said that for more than 168 gr I will need a 1:10 barrel. I usually shoot at 300 meters and I shoot only 168 ... openly I don't know what happens at 1000 yards. The barrel is short (22") and twisted (1:12) and I don't know which is the best reload .
