Stevens(savage)22/410 replacement stock

I have a really nice Stevens 22/410 that does not have a model number on it.
I am told that it is the same as the Savage 24?
I am looking to replace the plastic stock with a real wood stock.
Any suggestions and links will be appreciated!!!

I have looked at Brownells and Cabelas so far and the cost is about $122 for a finished plain walnut stock.

Check www.gunpartscorp.com - they had them for around $65 with buttplate. There are variations, so be sure to get the info on your gun before ordering.

Just a note that the plastic Savage used for those stocks had to be the world's worst choice. It was brittle and there are still pieces of Savage stock littering woods and fields across the country. The shop where I worked replaced dozens of them with wood stocks. The Savage plastic stock experience soured folks on plastic gun stocks so badly that when Remington came out with the Nylon 66 (a whole different plastic that was extremely durable) they advertised that it wouldn't chip, crack or break - and it didn't.

Even today, with polymer stocks, many old timers will tell you they don't trust "plastic" stocks, usually because "I had a Savage back in...."

Their stocks are identical, although the Tenite is slightly slimmer & lighter than the wood stocks.

The below guns are my 1951 Savage .22LR/.410 Model 24B (as stamped on the action side) and my 1940 Stevens Model 22-410 Tenite (the model "Model 22-410" is roll stamped on the barrel) - which, BTW, remains fairly pristine despise weekly use.

But then, I don't whack animals with it as a "coup de 'grace", either.

My buddy had a "DL" version of one that needed a new forearm. We searched high and low for one and never did fine a new forearm. The standard forearm doesn't fit the DL version. What a shame. He finally sold the gun broken forearm and all.
