I'd like to find inexpensive buckshot to use for practice with my 20ga Defender. The best I could find locally was 50 cents/shell. Does anyone offer better deals? Brand doesn't matter, just want to get used to firing the stuff.

Can't beat that price locally, Oleg. Msot runs higher around here.

I'd use nice cheap field loads for most practice, and buck for a few rounds each session. Test various loads for pattern and go with the best.

OR, learn to reload and work up a load that duplicates the performance of your factory pick.
