Riverside Arms 16 Guage Slide Action
I'm researching a 16 guage Riverside Arms shotgun for a friend. It's a slide action with the following markings on it: Browing Patent 16 guage proof tested; made in Chicopee Falls. Mass; number stamped on it is 79872 with a "B" following the #
Any information on this piece ... age, original cost, worth, etc. Thanks. Bayfield |

Stevens(owned by Savage) bought Riverside before WWII IIRC and continued to use the name through the '50s and maybe into the '60s.
Searching some of the gun auction sites might turn up pics of Savage/Stevens pumps that will give you the model number. Someone here might recognize the gun if you can post a pic or three. I'm at work and don't have access to any reference books. John |

I've got a 12 gauge Riverside pump made on the Browning patent, model number 520. Worth somewhere in the 200.00 range. A lot of shotgun for not much money. I've also got a Stevens made on the same patent except the hump is stepped and the safety is inside the trigger guard instead on the tang. That's about all I can tell you except the Stevens has 1905 and 1907 patent dates.

You're looking for the Stevens 520-30 and 620 series pumps. Pretty cool guns actually.
