1911 Colt 45

I was wondering what the value of a 1911 Colt 45 would be on the side of the gun it's stamp Property of the U.S. Army, I am told that their are only like 900 hundred of these guns left after President Clinton melted the rest so I was wondering if you could confirm the value of this gun.

You can be told many things that are not so. There are thousands upon thousands of military 1911s still in existence. The value depends entirely upon originality and condition. Anything from a few hundred dollars to several thousands. Detailed description is necessary, pictures helpful. Lots of discussions at
