For daily conceal carry I use Glocks,for range my favorite would be my Wilson CQB

I would have to say Wilson Combat. They blow most other 1911s out of the water as far a quality, fit and finish, and accuracy. Nighthawk Custom, Les Baer, and Ed Brown are also excellent.

Lots of Glock fans out there!

Not that I don't like my Glock, I like it a lot, but I prefer the CZ-75 line. Better ergonomics, more control options, just as reliable and durable, a lot more style, not that that matters for anything really.

I own quite a few guns on the list and shot nearly all the others, but like CZ the best!

Too general a question. I'd have to say smith makes and has the best selection for many purposes. But as far as quality H&K and Sig are superior to most. The Glocks are way overrated and I have had most of their models at one time or another and both the XD and M&P will shoot circles around a Glock in my hands. The squeeze cocker's by H&K are the best hands down. And even their 'poormans' USP's and 2000series are better quality than most others. The best Sig's ever made are the P220 and P226 in either K Kote or Black Stainless. IMHO

If there was a "best" gun then the laws of natural selection would have eliminated most others by now. We all have different requirements and different tastes. I voted Ruger because when it comes to quality versus price I think you get a lot for what you pay for.

I voted Glock, specifically Glock 17. It is not the best in every category or for every need, but taking all factors into consideration, I think it could possibly be the finest semi auto handgun ever made.

IMHO Any pistol that you are competent with and has proven to be reliable in yours hands. Everyone must find their own "best pistol".

Things to consider are it's purpose too. Home defense, concealed carry, competition, collectability... They all bring in factors that must be considered.

Now my "favorite" pistols are Belgian made Browning Hi-Powers. They however are no good for hunting grizzly bears.

I orignally used Glock 19 and still do. Recently I also purchased Glock 26 since in summers it get hot and to me ankle holters is best to CCW.

I am now in search of a Glock 18C. I know they are very hard to find, but they are worth it.

My Glock 19 is the first generation, and I agree with the previous poster, it's really good.

Onthefly... Glock has many advantages other than obvious safe action. These are specially in thier 9mm series becuase you have various magazine capacities for even the small G26, which can take 31 rds mag if necessary.
