Are beretta 92fs barrels interchangeable?

Can I buy a replacement barrel or an aftermarket threaded one and install it without having a gunsmith fit it? The ultimate "cool guy" gun for me was a suppressed 92fs and already have the stock gun so...

It depends who made the barrel. If it comes from Beretta no problem. Bar-Sto will have to be fitted by a gun smith. Not sure about other manufacturers.

Generally speaking if you buy a "drop-in" barrel from a reputable maker, it should install with no fitting required. If you buy a "semi-drop-in or "semi-fit" or a true match barrel, you should figure on paying a gunsmith to fit it for you.

Also, if you're buying from a reputable maker, they should provide enough information for you to make an informed decision.
