You are are all missing the most important part. (He is using reloads) try with commercial ammo and see if it is still doing it. If it is still doing it then you have a problem.

Ok. I sent it off to PSA and it was returned yesterday. There were no work notes included so I called customer service this morning. They stated that there was debris on the bolt face, they cleaned it, and fired 60 rounds with no issues.
I thoroughly cleaned the firearm between all range trips so the gun was only dirty from the last firing before I sent it off. Being dirty did not cause the issue. I am now thinking it may have been my reloads. My loads are a mix of FMJs and SP 55 grain. Primer is CCI 400. Powder is H335. I will get some factory rounds and fire a mag of reloads to warm up the gun and then will test factory rounds. |

It would have been helpful to know that you were using reloads from the very beginning, instead of twelve posts into the discussion.

Since Hodgdon's published starting load for a 55 gr Speer SP is 23.0 gr of H-335, I suggest starting there and working up to their maximum charge of 25.3 gr and see if that doesn't solve your issue. ( My bet is that if it doesn't improve at 23.0 gr, it will be completely fine at 24.0 gr of H-335).
Also you might consider trying some Ramshot TAC powder in place of H-335. In my experience, it burns cleaner and seems less pressure sensitive as you approach maximum loads.

The manual I used was Hornady vol I. For 55 grain the starting load is 20.8 and max is 23.2.
Took it out today and ran three mags without issue. Still can’t understand why it was having the problem before after one mag was fired. |

I have gotten to the point, with Palmetto uppers that I automatically check the size of the gas port in the barrel. It is always too small. They are setting up their uppers to run with premium ammo. I suspect that, if you run some, it will run for you as well. If you want to run anything of lesser power, open up the hole just a bit until it meets your needs.

Or they could of found a problem and fixed it and just not said anything? Maybe debris or an under sized gas port? I would run a few hundred rounds through it and if it works Ya!
P.S. if you have a problem with a gun and your using reloads, one of the first changes should be to factory ammo just to rule that out.
