What caused this?
I loaded some pretty hot .45 Colt loads for my Blackhawk and after firing them I noticed 5 out of 10 had what looked like double primer strikes. It was a 355 grain bullet with H110 and Winchester primers. The second "dimple" was not as deep. In some cases the 2 strikes were touching and in some cases there was separation between the 2 strikes. Any ideas?

Neat. Any pictures?
With a thumping load like that, any chance the hammer is bouncing? I'd say this is just as much a question for the gunsmith area or the revolver section as it would be for the Handloading section. While it may be ammo related, it sounds more like a gun issue than ammo.

No it's an ammo issue
I think you called it; cases bouncing back and forth off the breechface. Might be over-loaded for your gun. I'd be looking at various dimensions......

The load is in the 20,000 pressure range and is considered a Ruger Only load. It is being fired from a Ruger Blackhawk. I have fired this load before and did not have this problem. Maybe it is a gunsmith question.

how old is the brass? maybe the primer pocket is getting a little loose and is letting the primer shift under load? maybe it is some wear in the guns firing mechanism that is now allowing the hammer to jump when it didn't before?

Firing pin bounce?
Weakened firing pin spring? I hate it when it's a gun issue

Pictures would be a great help. In cases like this, descriptions only go so far.

I went out today and shot 10 328 grain Ruger only loads with no problems. The brass is once fired Starline, so primer pockets are tight. I would show pictures, but to be perfectly honest, I don't know how and am too stubborn to learn. LOL

45 Colt and H110 kicks me so hard, it challenges my stubbornness.
