Loading for G23 Gen 4

Loading .40 with AutoComp at starting load with 165gr. Plated FP. With a over all length of 1.135".

Barrel Chamber: .430"
Resized case: .417"
Live round: .420" at case head and mouth.
Spent round: .425" - .428" in middle of the case.
The small part of brass over the feed ramp did not change it stayed at .420".

Am I looking for a KB with this much movement back and fourth?

Would like to get a aftermarket barrel if it would help. I looked at the Lone Wolf but it had twice as much feed ramp intrusion. Can anyone tell me about the feed ramp intrusion of a KKM barrel or any other barrel? Pictures would be very helpful.

If not hot-rodding your brass is fine.

KKM offers superior Glock barrels; recommend.

Is your powder charge within the manual spec? If so, you should be fine. I shoot a reasonably warm .40 S&W load, 5.9 gr. of Hodgdon Universal, Win. SP primer in a Win case, Rainier 165 gr. plated. This develops 1150+ in my G24 longslide. I get no trace of a bulge, either in the G24 (as it happens, it's running a KKM barrel) or in my other .40 Glocks.

I don't think so. Usually we worry about a bulge at the unsupported part. Btw, are you loading on a Dillon sdb? Rounds sound a little coke_bottled.

Not hot rodding just want to get 165 power factor and that is it. Loading on a Lee press with lee carbide dies and yes they are coke bottle shape.

You don't NEED an aftermarket barrel to load for it, I've ran some rather warm loads through my Gen4 23 (and 35) including some AutoComp. I like KKM and pretty much have one for every Glock, but for "normal" loads it's not a must have. If you want a KKM great, but don't buy one just because you think you need it for a simple 165PF load because you don't.
