RPSS Aquisition
I just bought this from a close friend. It's a Ruger Police Service Six, .357 mag with 2 3/4" barrel. Looks wise it's not the Belle of the Ball. It has somewhat extensive cosmetic challenges to both the blue finish and grips but passes my extensive used revolver checklist as far as mechanics. The rifling is strong and the rest of the bore, forcing cone & chambers look good. It was carried on duty for years by a Louisiana deputy sheriff but does not exhibit the usual obvious tells of a piece that's been shot thousands of rounds. I did get to shoot a few cylinders through it years ago.
I likely won't shoot it a whole lot and when I do it will probably just see my mid range .357 mag handloads. I thought it was worth the $300 that I gave for it. Last edited by George1957; July 10, 2024 at 08:28 AM. |

300 is a good deal and those old Rugers are strong. You can't really break it.

Thanks, guys. Per request, I added a pic more clearly showing the caliber designation.
