Speer .38 Spl 135gr Gold Dot +P in Clear Ballistics gel.

Shot into Clear Ballistics gel at a distance 10 feet using an S&W Airweight model 442 with a 1.875-inch barrel. My coronagraph is still in disrepair so I will have to shoot it for velocity after I get it fixed. Two rounds into bare gel and two into heavy clothing covered gel.

The first round into bare gel penetrated to 13.25 inches and expanded to .57 inches. Round two penetrated to 13.5 inches and expanded to .57 inches also.

In the heavy clothing gel the first round penetrated to 13.5 inches and expanded to .56 inches. Round two went to 14 inches and also expanded to .56 inches.

UPDATE
I borrowed a chrony from a friend and here are the results of five rounds out of my S&W snub.

I like the Speer Gold Dot ammo and carry it often. Glad to see you had such great penetration and expansion from a short barrel 442. Thanks for sharing your results.

Excellent performance. I've been reading your various threads on testing and am very appreciative of the data! This is the load I carry in my SP101 and I've seen many a YouTube video that displays impressive performance similar to what you've demonstrated. Half inch holes and great penetration are exactly what I want in a handgun round.

Have you ever seen anything better than gold dot?

I have a Smith and Wesson 442 too.. currently carrying Critical Defense. Just got the M&P 9 2.0 and I wanted to buy SD Ammo today - because I didn't want to confuse the ammo I did not buy Critical Defense for my 9mm.. I bought!!!!!!!!!!!! Speer Gold dot

Can't wait to get out and shoot some - not too much, its a little pricey lol. like I think I can get two boxes of Critical Defense for around the $35 area - Gold Dot was $10 more for 10 less bullets

I had this ammo in my jframe for awhile, but currently using HSTs. Can't speak for everyone else, but this load is very difficult to find.
