Low light sights for AR-15

I am looking for an effective sighting system that works well (allows for accurate aim) in low light. Simplicity, durability and reliability are important factors. What do you suggest?

Scott,
In the early 70's, the Army issued a luminous front sight with a large rear aperature. They used promethium as the radioactive element. Trijicon, Mepro Light, and Innovative Weaponry currently sell a similar type sight. Some people have complained that they could not adjust these type sights far enough down into the front sight base to properly zero, tis is due to the longer overall length to accomodate the tritium vial they use now. Trijicon also sells the ACOG Reflex that is a tritium illuminated "dot" type sight suitable for use in both day light and low loght conditions. More expensive then the replacement iron sights, but a better overall choice (IMHO). The Army no longer uses the replacement iron sights. Night vision goggles and PAQ-4 infared aiming lights (laser sights) have replaced them. They have purchased the Trijicon Reflex for use also.

Tritium sight posts would work, but that requires a good shouldering of the weapon, one eye shooting and a focus on the sight, not the bad guy.

Consider the same Holosite set-up that I love so much, of late, for the day use. The brightness of the reticle can be turned down so that it is not overbearing in the dark or indoors.
