Was this a production model pistol? Has AMT stopped manufacturing this handgun? How much would they run for now and is there an AMT website or something similiar? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Pete80:
The Amt .30 Carbine pistol is identified as the AUTOMAC III. According to my records this pistol (30 Carbine or 9mm Winchester) were mfg'd in 1993 only, consequintly it would appear it is out of production. (as of 1993)Other calibers were mfg'd starting in 1992. Value on your pistol= exc=$450.00 NIB to poor=$80.00 Regarding the web site: Try search AMT PISTOLS, FIREARMS OR GUNS and see what happens. Not to contradict THE MAN, but I am sure that the Auto Mag III was sold prior to 1993. In fact, I think I had my first M1 Carbine in 1988, and I remember considering the purchase of an Automag III to give my a nice pistol/rifle combo in the .30 carbine. But I was told that the handgun was plauged with reliability problems.

Rob:
I guess this would depend upon where one get's his resources. I just checked another resoursec of information, which is older than my initial resourse, and I find the information conflicting. The 2nd resourse indicates that the AutomagIII Was mfg'd in 1989. As you have purchased yours in 1988, I would surmize that both of my resourses are incorrect. Thanks for the correct information I will annotate that with my information. HJN |

HArry,
No, I purchased my M1 CARBINE in 1988, and I looked at the Auto Mag III shortly thereafter, so I would guess that your SECOND source is correct. -Rob |
